Roseville, Calif. – Golden State Racing is in the middle of a fantastic stretch of results for its three Late Model drivers as the team prepares for a grueling weekend for Indepence Day.
Friday will be an exciting day for Golden State Racing as Eric Schmidt and the Golden State Racing team will tackle Irwindale Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Series West. In the team’s debut at All American in March, the 2007 track champion Schmidt nearly pulled off the win before a late race spin.
The team will then head back to Northern California for a Saturday night appearance by its talented trio of Late Model drivers.
Golden State Racing’s veteran Late Model driver John Moore of Granite Bay, CA, picked up his second feature win of the season Saturday at All American Speedway. Moore is now just 10 points behind points leader Gary Glenn in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Western Late Model points.
Moore has also advanced to third in the state points standings.
Last Saturday’s 100 lap feature saw all three Golden State racers finish in the top-three, with rising female stars Laura Hayes of Wilton, CA and Drive for Diversity’s Kristin Bumbera of Sealy, TX making their presence felt.
Moore, Hayes, and Bumbera came from seventh, eighth, and ninth on the grid. Moore took the lead from Paulie Harraka on lap 51 and Hayes moved past on lap 71.
Moore and Hayes came across the line 1-2, while Bumbera was able to put together a fifth place run.
Bumbera has now jumped to sixth in the standings, with Hayes running eighth.
Race fans can check out Eric Schmidt in the AT&T Golden State Racing Chevrolet on Friday live on HDNET. Check your local listings. Golden State Racing driver Kristin Bumbera will also be competing in this event, with her family-based team.
