Roseville, Calif. – Eric Schmidt and Golden State Racing continue to make their prescence felt in Northern California Western Late Model racing, winning from the pole in Saturday’s 19 car, 50 lap feature at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.

The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series start was Schmidt’s first at Roseville since last October, when the 2007 All American Speedway champion nearly pulled off a last to first drive in the Toyota 100.

Schmidt rolled off the trailer second in the first practice session. As temperatures rose in the afternoon to over 100 degrees, Schmidt was fourth in the second practice session.

But with the weather cooling, Schmidt and his Frank Jordan-owned Chevrolet were able to put down a 13.904 second lap for the pole position.

The 50 lap feature was staged at nearly 10 p.m., allowing for Schmidt to continue to take advantage of his car’s balance in cooler temperatures.

Schmidt led the field to the green, but it took a second attempt at a clean start until the race was underway.

Despite three cautions, Schmidt was able to motor away from the field on each restart.

With no pressure, the 2006 Stockcar Racing League champion coasted home to a 1.291 second win.

The feature victory marked Schmidt’s second straight win this season, dating back to April 11 at Madera Speedway. Madera’s feature featured 17 entrants.

Schmidt will now try to make it three-for-three against large fields, as he prepares for the Tri-Holiday 150 at the new Stockton 99 Speedway. Schmidt will look to parlay his success in his 2003 championship season there into a big win.

Saturday’s feature action will pay $2000 to win. Golden State Racing teammate and Drive for Diversity participant Katie Hagar, will join Schmidt in competing at Stockton.
