SCHMIDT DOMINATES ROSEVILLE TO TAKE FOURTH WIN IN A ROW

Roseville, CA - Frank Jordan’s Golden State Racing continued to stake its claim as one of the top Late Model teams in the western United States as Eric Schmidt thoroughly dominated the 100 lap feature on Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif.

The win marked the fourth straight for the #05 Legacy Pools Chevrolet with Crew Chief Eric Snyder calling the shots.

"I have a good crew and a good car. This car was great, Schmidt said. "We can't afford to run every week, so when we run, we want to run good.”

Schmidt set the tone for the evening by smashing the field in time trials with a 13.842 second lap around the one-third mile asphalt oval. Schmidt took fast time honors by nearly two-tenths of a second on the second place car.

After a five car invert, Schmidt started fifth out of 18 for the 100 lap affair. The caution flag came out on lap one when the leaders tangled, and on the restart Schmidt began to work through the field.

It did not take long, as Schmidt passed Jonathan Mawhinney for the lead on lap 14. Little did the strong crowd on hand know that the race would go caution-free to the finish.

Schmidt began lapping cars early and lapped all the way up to fourth place throughout the 99 lap green flag run. He also accumulated a lead of 7.297 seconds over Mawhinney at the finish.

Schmidt crossed the stripe while beginning to lap cars for the second time. Building on his win in the 100 lap “Spring Classic Open” at Stockton and sweeping the twin 44s at Roseville on April 24, Schmidt has won four straight races.

Despite missing the first two Roseville events, Schmidt and Golden State Racing are ranked fourth in the track standings.

The next event for Golden State Racing is to be announced pending sponsorship. Great opportunities are available to partner with a race-winning team throughout the summer.
