Golden State Racing ready to contend for championship
Three car effort at All American Speedway in 2008

Roseville, CA – Golden State Racing is preparing for a
run at the All American Speedway championship, with
drivers Kristin Bumbera of Sealy, TX, John Moore of
Granite Bay, CA, and Laura Hayes of Wilton, CA, and
has also announced the 2008 racing plans for Eric
Schmidt of Roseville, CA.

Schmidt, the 2006 SRL champion and 2007 All American
Speedway champion, will compete in up to five NASCAR
Camping World Series West races, along with competing
in select events at Kern County Speedway, Irwindale
Speedway, and with the SRL.

Schmidt will also crew chief for Moore at
All-American. Schmidt will be making his West Series
debut on March 29th at All-American and will be a
factor to win.

“Obviously we go in with every intention of winning,”
Schmidt said. “To be honest, just to race is a dream,
and this is the natural progression for the team to
take this next step.”

Moore will assume a leadership role in the team’s
three car Western Late Model effort at Roseville,
hoping to claim a championship while also helping
develop Bumbera and Hayes.

This will be Moore’s seventh year in stockcar racing,
after he started competing at Stockton 99 Speedway in
2001.

“I’m extremely excited,” Moore said. “This sport is
such a team sport and this team is proven to be head
and shoulders above every team in Norcal.”

Moore finished third to Schmidt in the points at
Stockton 99 in 2003.

“I feel this is my best shot at winning a
championship,” Moore said. “I think really highly of
Eric. He is top-notch and I have always respected
him.”

This will also mark Moore’s second chance to work with
young female talent, after teaming up with Allison
Duncan and Sarah Fisher previously.

For Hayes, 2008 will be a transition year from
high-powered USAC Sprint Cars to NASCAR. The 17
year-old recorded a third place finish at Roseville
last year in her first start in the sprints.

“(Golden State) is really successful and they are such
a professional team,” Hayes said. “I’m excited to work
with Eric Schmidt and learn from him. He helped us at
a test last year, and we learned so much in just one
day.”

Hayes will have her father at the helm as crew chief
in the satellite organization for Golden State.

“My dad and I have worked together since I was eight,”
Hayes said. “The Late Model will be a learning
experience for us. He raced late models in the past
but the technology has changed so much.”

Golden State Racing and Schmidt will compete Saturday
March 29th at All American Speedway in the Camping
World Series West. Moore, Bumbera, and Hayes will
compete on Saturday April 5. Race fans can learn more
